Time For Renewal

This Sunday is the Solemnity of Christ the King, which is the last Sunday of the liturgical year. It’s a time to start over, for us to reflect on the past year, and on the real reason for our faith. That Christ is our King of Glory.

The Church chooses this feast to renew itself and begin a new year. A time when the rest of the world is busy, and focused in winter darkness, we renew and wait in anticipation for the new light of the world to be born the Christ child.

We too are awaiting a rebirth, and the upcoming season does that. From reflecting on our fight with HIV/AIDS, listening to the quiet, and celebrations with friends. Let us not forget that Advent leads us to Christmas as well.

So as we renew in the life of the Church so let us renew our lives and reflect on the changes of the year. And begin again.
