Reclaiming the Cross Outreach
Reclaiming the Cross Outreach is a ministry of Saint Francis Parish & Outreach devoted to honest Christian witness in a time of confusion, fear, and division. This outreach seeks to clarify biblical teaching on contemporary social issues while remaining rooted in the mercy of Christ, the dignity of every human person, and the ancient Catholic faith we have received.
At Saint Francis, we believe that the Cross of Christ must never be used as a weapon against the vulnerable. Instead, it must be proclaimed as a sign of redemption, truth, reconciliation, and hope. Reclaiming the Cross exists to speak clearly, pastorally, and faithfully in that spirit.
The Purpose of This Outreach
Reclaiming the Cross Outreach helps people engage difficult subjects through the lens of Scripture, tradition, mercy, and moral seriousness. It is meant to be a ministry of truth-telling without cruelty, conviction without hatred, and public Christian witness without fear.
In a world where faith is often distorted for political, ideological, or dehumanizing purposes, this outreach seeks to recover a more faithful voice: one that is grounded in Christ, attentive to the wounded, and unwilling to confuse the Gospel with exclusion or contempt.
Rooted in the Gospel
This outreach grows out of the same faith proclaimed at Saint Francis Parish & Outreach: ancient Catholic worship, open communion, sacramental grace, and a deep commitment to the dignity of all people. We are an inclusive and affirming Old Catholic parish, and that same spirit shapes how we speak about Scripture, justice, society, and public life.
Reclaiming the Cross is not about harshness or argument for its own sake. It is about helping people see that Christian faith can be truthful, thoughtful, and compassionate at the same time.
Led in Service
Reclaiming the Cross Outreach is led by Subdeacon Luna Godsey. Through this ministry, Saint Francis Parish & Outreach offers reflection, teaching, and public witness meant to help people think more deeply, respond more faithfully, and encounter the Gospel more honestly.

Why It Matters
Many people have been harmed by religious language that shames, excludes, or dehumanizes. Reclaiming the Cross Outreach exists in part to answer that harm with something better: a Christian witness shaped by truth, mercy, repentance, courage, and love.
We believe the Church is called not only to preach the Gospel inside its walls, but also to bear faithful witness in the public square. This outreach is one expression of that calling.
